Dr. Kevin M. Rubin is a graduate of Michigan State University where he received a BA in Law. He also holds a MBA, MPA, and PhD with a specialization in public policy and law.
A lifelong academic scholar and medical cannabis advocate, Dr. Rubin is the Founder of Cannabis Educational Institute, LLC. He is a professor of business, public policy and business law, representing universities and colleges throughout the country since 2009. Dr. Rubin is a professor/curriculum/instructional developer and a cannabis industry subject matter expert and public policy analyst, with extensive knowledge in government affairs. His responsibilities include training government officials, business executives, investors, and policymakers on issues of compliance and best business practices within the cannabis business arena. While promoting education and improving public awareness, he works as a legislative liaison with elected officials and their staff to develop regulatory best practices and new policies. Dr. Rubin is also focused on developing educational cannabis curriculum to comply with ever-changing state laws, public health and safety initiatives.
As a cannabis industry consultant and seasoned professional, Dr. Rubin operated a medical cannabis dispensary as the Chief Operations Officer in Arizona. He was responsible for all business operations related to products and inventory, retail operations, financial protocols and security measures. As a consultant and fifteen-year veteran in the cannabis industry, Dr. Rubin has coordinated consulting solutions for applications, site acquisition, retail design, regulatory compliance, loss mitigation, business plan development and competitive strategy. He has also provided strategic direction for start-up medical cannabis dispensaries throughout the country. Executing company core values and culture, Dr. Rubin creates an environment that ensures the highest standard of compliance and maximum productivity/efficiency, by translating and implementing company strategies, policies and procedures.
